Our commitment

Yu by Si Jie is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including guests who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology. Accessibility is treated as part of how the site is built, not as an afterthought.

Standard we aim for

This website has been built to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We also aim to meet the expectations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as it applies to places of public accommodation and their websites.

What we have done

• Keyboard access: every link, button, form field and expandable question can be reached and operated with a keyboard, and the focused element is always visibly outlined.
• Skip navigation: a "skip to main content" link is the first item on every page, so repeated navigation can be bypassed.
• Colour contrast: text and interface colours have been chosen to meet or exceed the WCAG AA contrast ratios, in both the dark and light sections of the site.
• Text alternatives: every photograph carries a descriptive alt attribute; decorative marks are hidden from assistive technology.
• Structure: pages use proper landmarks (banner, navigation, main, contentinfo) and a single, sequential heading order so a screen reader can navigate by structure.
• Forms: every field has an associated label, and reservation and contact forms report their result in text rather than by colour alone.
• Resizing: the layout reflows without loss of content or function when text is enlarged up to 200%, and the site does not disable pinch-zoom on mobile devices.
• Motion: the site does not use autoplaying video, carousels or animation that cannot be stopped.

Known limitations

Some parts of this website are provided by third parties and are not fully under our control:

• Embedded maps. The Google map on our location pages is a third-party component whose accessibility we cannot modify. The full address is always given as selectable text next to the map, and links to it directly, so no information is available only inside the map.

Where a third-party component falls short, we will provide the same information in an accessible form elsewhere on the page.

Accessibility at the restaurant

If you have an accessibility requirement for your visit — step-free access, seating needs, or anything else that would make the evening easier — please include it in the notes field when you request a table, or send it through our contact page. The team will reply to confirm what we can arrange for your booking.

We treat accessibility reports as a priority and will respond with either a fix or a way to get you the information you needed.

This website is new and will grow as the restaurant opens. Accessibility is reviewed whenever pages are added or changed, and this statement will be updated to reflect what changes.
